Although acrylic painting is my specialty, I often experiment with mixed media such as fabric, found objects, and collage. Art is a powerful medium that can transform lives, and I strive to infuse each of my creations with that intrinsic power.

 

About the Artist

 

Originally from South Carolina, I recently moved to Philadelphia to pursue my art career. Growing up I was always the odd one out, and my art served as an outlet for my strange and sometimes nonsensical personality. I was the first LGBTQ+ person to come out at my small southern high school and struggled with finding acceptance in both my internal and external environment. For years I tried to stifle my authentic self, instead favoring what would make me acceptable in the eyes of others. As I grew and started to embrace my full and flawed self, my true personality began to bleed onto canvas. My style became a colorful explosion of duality - both pain and joy, the grotesque and the lovely.

 

My work serves as a reflection of my soul, and if you look hard enough, you might find bits of yours hidden in paint strokes as well.
